PULL & PUSH connections

The definition of the PULL and PUSH connections differ with regard to whether our partner implements Rentals United API or we implement our partner's API. This does not mean that the PULL SC connections follow the same rules as PULL PMS connections. Rather, PULL SC connections can be compared to the PUSH PMS connections. Have a look at the detailed description below: 

  • In PULL PMS connections, Rentals United imports the data from PMS and this means we use their API.

  • In PUSH PMS connections, it is the PMS that sends us the data; very often Rentals United does not have detailed information on what data they send us. In this case, our API is used by the partner.

  • In PULL SC connections, it is the SC that imports the data from Rentals United to their system. Again, it means our API is used by the partner.

  • In PUSH SC connections, Rentals United sends the data to SC and this means we use their API.

However, the connections with our partners are not usually that straightforward and involve much more elements. The above barely touches upon the synchronization of Static & dynamic content. You should also consider how reservations, modifications and cancellations are synchronized, as it is entirely independent from what is described in this chapter.
