Integration overview

Introduction

MEWS is designed to simplify and automate all operations for modern hoteliers and their guests. From the booking engine to check-out, from front desk to revenue management, every process is easier, faster and more connected. And with the integrated MEWS Payments ecosystem, every transaction is secure and seamless.

Integration model

The integration with MEWS is a hybrid integration and this document outlines how the two systems work together.

  • MEWS sends ARI data to Rentals United - see ARI data.

  • MEWS triggers the static data update in Rentals United; however, Rentals United is responsible for retrieving it - see Static content.

  • Reservations, modifications and cancellations are pushed by Rentals United - see Reservation processing.

Multi-unit support

A multi-unit refers to a set of indistinguishable properties. These properties work the same way the regular properties do; however, they represent a number of properties with the same specification at the same address. An example of a multi-unit property is a set of identical hotel rooms.

In integration with MEWS, multi-unit properties are supported.

They are synchronised as regular single properties with possible multiple number of available units. It means each property can be booked multiple times.

First we create a single property in Rentals United, based on the number of "spaceCategories" received from MEWS. Then, the actual number of available units is synchronised from the "spaceCount" data.

If you have a rates set-up created in MEWS, note that it will not be synchronised to Rentals United. Our integration supports only seasonal pricing. If you want to have rates created for different channels, you can create them directly in Rentals United, for Booking.com and Expedia.
