Airbnb deprecates the Email Alias feature
Effective guest communication is essential for good reviews and repeat bookings.
To date, you have been able to contact the guest by sending an email to an address similar to: emelie-7bbsntonnpump53b@guest.airbnb.com. This email was artificially provided by Airbnb in order to secure the guest's real email address.
On October 2, 2023, Airbnb will be deprecating the Email Alias feature and will stop providing any guest's email address to Rentals United.
The purpose of this change is to encourage property managers to manage the entire guest communication using Airbnb proprietary messaging system. Do not worry - Rentals United has a solution and you can continue contacting your guests via email.
Rentals United has a solution
We have developed a solution which allows you to continue communicating with your Airbnb guests via email even after the Email Alias feature deprecation.
Each Airbnb reservation created in Rentals United after the change will have an Email Alias recreated within Rentals United. This applies to any confirmed or cancelled reservations with the check-in dates ongoing or in the future (past bookings will not be updated and email function will stop working).
In addition to that, note that each reservation with recreated Email Alias in Rentals United will have LastMod field adjusted. Partners using the Rentals United API will receive numerous reservations to update.
The format of the new alias will be similar to stay+[airbnbresid#]@guests.quickconnect.rentals. You can access it in:

You can continue to use this Rentals United Email Alias in communication with your guest. This email will be attached to the Airbnb thread and delivered to the guest in the Airbnb Messaging chat.
How to continue using email?
Nothing is required from you. Use the email alias just as a regular email address. We will make sure the message reaches your guest.
My message has not been sent. What shall I do?
Perhaps you have not granted Rentals United access to read and write messages on your behalf. Click here and allow Airbnb to access and respond to your messages.

I have not received guest's message. Why?
If the guest has responded to your message via the Airbnb chat, you will not receive it to your email. It will be available only in your Airbnb chat and Rentals United Guest Communication. To avoid missing on the guests' messages, turn on email notifications - here.
