Creating and mapping both allow you to manage the listing directly from Rentals United. Some channels have both options (creating and mapping) available, but some offer only one of them. This article explains the difference between creating and mapping listings.
- Connecting - should be used if your property does not exist in the channel dashboard yet. For example, you create a property in Rentals United and connect it to channels. This means, each channel will synchronize the property as it is created in Rentals United and the listing will not have any extra data beyond what is set in Rentals United. We may say that the listing in the channel will be the copy of what already exists in Rentals United.
- Mapping - should be used if you already have existing properties in the sales channel. Mapping creates a link between the properties in Rentals United and your existing listings in the channel. If you had properties in some channels (like Booking.com and Airbnb) before you started working with Rentals United, you should use mapping.
Note: The above methods do not make your property update automatically in the channel. Updates depend entirely on how the integration with the given channel works. See Understanding how property's content updates in the channel.
