If you forgot your password or need to change it for any other reason, you can safely set up a new password and restore access to your account.
Password reset scenarios
Account lockout
In case the you repeatedly attempt to access the Rentals United account without success (5 failed attempts in 15 minutes), the system temporary restricts the access. You will see a relevant notification on the login page. You need to wait 30 minutes before the next login attempt.
To recover the access to the Rentals United account before the indicated time pass, you must reset the password. Once you reset the password, the lockout is removed.
In case of account lockout, Rentals United still processes the API requests for the locked accounts.
Mandatory password reset
The system requires you to change the password every 90 days. After this time, you will see a notification when logging in. Read how to turn this option on and off here.
Set up new password
Follow the steps below to set up a new password.
Step by step:
- Go to the Rentals United login page.
- Click Forgot your password.
- Provide your username and click Send email.

Go to your inbox and open the password reset email.
Note: Only one reset password link is active at a time. In the case of multiple reset password emails sent, only the last one is active. The reset password link is valid for 15 minutes.
- Click the link provided in the email to set your new password.
- Enter and confirm your new password, then click Set new password.
Reset password email not delivered
If you didn't receive any reset password email, you exceeded the number of allowed reset attempts. You can reset the password 3 times within 1 hour. If you exceed this number, contact the Support Team to restore access to your account.
Strong password requirements
Newly created passwords require a minimum length of 12 characters and have to adhere to the strict complexity rules.
- At least 1 uppercase letter,
- At least 1 lowercase letter,
- At least 1 number,
- At least 1 special character from the parentheses (.-_$*()#@!%/),
- It must not contain user ID or username,
- It must be different from the last 4 passwords used.
