Connecting to Expedia

To start advertising on Expedia, you must first establish a connection between your accounts. This process involves adding Expedia to your services and configuring your account-level settings through the Connection Wizard.

Establish connection

Follow the steps below to add a specific channel to your account.

Step-by-step:

1. Sign in to your Rentals United account.
2. Go to the Services tab and select Find Services.
3. Type the channel name in the search box.
4. Click the to expand the channel section.
5. Click Get connected. 

The system validates your connection in the background. If you meet the initial requirements, the Connection Wizard launches automatically. If an eligibility error appears, follow the on-screen instructions to resolve the specific requirement before proceeding.

Minimum requirements to connect

• Property name: Required

• Property type: Required

  Note: If the Property type is mapped to Aparthotel, Apartment, Condo or Cottage , then the property must have at least 1 bathroom
• Maximum number of guests: Required
• Address: : Required
• Geo-coordinates: Required
• Rooms: "Kitchen" room type must be added
• Number of beds: It must match the maximum number of guests
• Description: Must be at least 700 characters long
• Photos: At least 10 photos, minimum size: 1024 px (width) x 768 px (height), main picture is selected
• Prices and availability: Required
• Minimum stay: Between 1 and 28 days.
• Payment methods: Required
• Cancellation policy: : Required
  • Must be set in a continuous way (no non-penalty periods between periods with a penalty)
  • If there are multiple cancellation policies, the fee amount must increase (or at least remain on the same level) towards the check-in day. For example, the fee applied if a reservation is canceled within 10 to 7 days before the check-in should be lower than the fee applied if a reservation is canceled within 6 to 1 days before the check-in.

Tip: You can revisit the Channel Settings section and adjust these settings at any time from the channel's integration page after completing the setup. 

Complete account setup in Expedia

To complete the account setup, link your Rentals United account with your Expedia account.

Step by step:

1. Log in to the Expedia dashboard.

2. Go to the Rooms and Rates section.

   

3. Select Expedia Connectivity Settings from the Setup section.

   

4. Select "Quick Connect" as the System Provider. Check both connectivity boxes available: Availability and rates and Booking retrieval.
5. Save changes.

Once the connection with Quick Connect is activated, you can start adding listings.
