Both hosts and guests can request reservation changes after agreeing on the updates. This process is called a reservation alteration. Initiate all modifications directly in Airbnb to sync them to Rentals United in real time.
Modifying reservations as a guest
Guests can request changes to reservation dates and guest counts. Airbnb preserves the original price for previously reserved days and calculates additional costs for new dates outside the original range.
Hosts can accept or deny alteration requests in the Airbnb Integration page. Accepting the request updates the reservation details and property availability in Rentals United.
Modifying reservations as a host
Hosts can modify reservation conditions, such as dates or properties. Guests must accept the alteration request for changes to apply. Once accepted, the updated reservation details sync to Rentals United.
Important: Confirm that the new property is available for the selected dates before changing it. Airbnb doesn't check property availability when modifying a reservation property.
Understand pricing models and date modifications
When changing reservation dates, pricing calculations depend on the pricing model set for the listing.
Daily price
Date modifications follow these pricing rules:
- Originally booked dates keep the original daily price.
- Newly booked dates receive the most up-to-date daily price.
LOS pricing
Guests with LOS pricing listings may not be able to start an alteration request. In this case, guests can ask the host to initiate the alteration instead. If you removed LOS pricing for the original dates - for example, by switching from LOS pricing to daily price - the system calculates the new price using daily price.
