Pre-approvals

Are you looking for ways to increase the number of bookings and let your potential guests know that you cannot wait to host them? Rentals United integrated an Airbnb-exclusive feature called pre-approvals. Pre-approval is nothing else than a welcoming message, inviting your guest to book your property. This way you can let your guests know that they are more than welcome at your apartment! You will see the pre-approval option once your potential guests initiates the conversation with you in Airbnb (using the Contact host flow). Check out also how this feature can be used at the Airbnb Help Center.

Whenever an Airbnb guest initiates contact with you , a new lead is created in Guest Planner.

  1. Go to the Guest Planner tab in the main menu.

  2. Look for a lead that has been created in Airbnb. Click the reservation.

  3. You will see an active communication thread and the guest's message. You can respond to the guest's question and at the same time click the Send pre-approval button to invite your guest to book the stay.

  4. You will see the notification, informing you that a pre-approval has been sent. In result, the guest receives an invitation in their Airbnb inbox and has 24 hours to confirm their reservation. Once the pre-approval is confirmed by the guest, they need to follow the regular booking process on Airbnb.

  5. You may notice that right after the pre-approval is sent, the Send pre-approval button changes to Withdraw pre-approval.

This may be useful if the property gets booked in the meantime or you no longer can accept this guest. Nonetheless, by withdrawing the pre-approval, you only let the guest know that for some reason they cannot book. If they are really interested in your apartment and the property is available, they can still book it.

    • If the pre-approval does not result in a reservation within the given time, it expires and the notifications are cleared. No action is required.

    • If the guest proceeds with the reservation, then a new reservation will be created.
