Import & Connect properties

Have you recently added new hotels in your Booking.com extranet, but do not have them in Rentals United? There is a quick and easy way to import them into Rentals United.

  • Save time and import properties that you have already created in Booking.com. Do not spend time on repeating the same task twice in different systems.

  • Manage properties from one place - imported hotels are ready to be managed in Rentals United, as they are immediately connected to their equivalents in Booking.com.

  • Expand to new platforms once you have imported hotels from Booking.com, you can easily list them on other sales channels and maximise your booking opportunities

After your properties are imported, they are automatically connected to Booking.com by mapping them to their equivalents in Booking.com. This easy process helps you save time and reduce errors!

What is the process in short?

  1. Connect to Booking.com - see here.

  2. Import hotels from Booking.com.

  3. Rentals United automatically creates properties based on the imported hotels.

  4. Rentals United automatically maps these properties to the hotels in Booking.com.

The 'Booking.com Import & Connect' process is slightly different from the 'Airbnb Import' process. Unlike with the Airbnb import, the hotels imported from Booking.com become immediately mapped to their equivalents in Booking.com. The connection is established and you can manage your hotels from Rentals United.

Important notes

  • Import will not be possible:

    • For the hotels that have already been imported (even if you edited them on Booking.com). For example, if you add an additional room type to the hotel that has already been imported, you will not be able to import it again to Rentals United. Instead, synchronise channel settings - see here.

    • For the hotels that do not have any room types and rate plans in Booking.com

    • For the hotels that are already mapped to a Rentals United property

    • For the hotels that are not ready to be imported (e.g. insufficient content)

  • Imported hotels follow the Hotel name + Room type name pattern. You can later change the hotel name in Edit property.

  • When the Booking.com hotel has room types with one property only, this property will be set as the main property for the room type.

  • Mark-up in imported properties is by default set to ‘0’. After a successful import, you may adjust it on the rates page - see here.

Prerequisites

  • The import feature is available by default only for non-PMS users. Note however that some PMSs are eligible to use this feature. To check if this feature can be enabled for your PMS/your account, contact the Rentals United Support Team.

  • You need to have a Booking.com account with available properties.

  • You need to have established a connection with Booking.com via Rentals United.

Import & Connect properties

  1. Depending on whether you already have some properties connected to the Sales Channel or not, you are presented with two different options.

    • Click if it is the first property to be connected.

    • Click if you already have some properties connected.

  2. A dialogue window appears with the question if the property is already published in Sales Channel. Click Yes.

  3. Choose the identity confirmation method.
    • Email registered in Booking.com

    • Booking.com Legal Entity ID (LEID)

  4. Provide the Property ID and choose the Import this property option.

If you want to import a single hotel, the Property ID must be the same as the Property ID of the imported hotel. If the Property ID is assigned to a hotel which is not eligible for import, you will be informed about it in a notification.

In case we do not have permission to access your properties, you will be asked to allow us access rights.

If you plan to import multiple properties, you can grant us access to all of them at once. Just check all relevant properties in the access step in Booking.com.

  5. Imported property may require additional configuration. If needed, you will be asked to configure some mandatory details.

    • Rate plan - the dropdown contains the rate plan options available in Booking.com for this room type. Select the main rate plan, from which we will import the pricing to Rentals United. This rate plan will also be set as Active. Remaining rate plans will also be imported, but not activated. If there is only one rate plan available, it will be selected by default and the entire step will be skipped.

  6. The import process for the selected hotel is started. The properties appear in the Edit property page with the Pending status. The processing time depends on the number of imported properties. It should not be longer than 30 minutes.

You will be informed when the import is completed via email notification. If some properties fail to get imported, you will be notified about it, too.

At this point, we recommend setting up the mark-up value and activating the remaining rates. You can see how to do it here.
