Instant booking process

  1. A guest enters the reservation page on the Kayak / Hotels Combined website and provides the details of a reservation (dates, number of guests etc.).

  2. If the property is available to rent, the guest completes the reservation process on the Kayak / Hotels Combined website by providing their personal data.

  3. Kayak / Hotels Combined inserts a booking to Rentals United.

    When there are several Rentals United properties connected to an HRS room type (Rentals United hotel or group), reservations will be assigned to a property depending on their moves configuration. If you are unsure about the moves configuration of your HRS room types in Rentals United, please see Moves algorithm.

Request-to-book (N/A)

Booking request process is not possible on the Kayak / Hotels Combined website.

Inserting reservation manually

It is always possible to insert reservation manually in Rentals United Guest Planner or from the Bookings tab. In such a case, the availability is blocked and the channel is updated.

Note: Kayak / Hotels Combined will not have access to the details of any reservation inserted manually.

Reservation details

When a reservation is received, Kayak / Hotels Combined provides us with the standard guest personal data (name, surname, phone number etc.) and booking details (property name, number of guests, date, price). Some channels also include additional information. All these details can be accessed in Guest Planner > Big Card or via API methods used to retrieve reservations, for example Pull_ListReservations_RQ.

Guest number

Kayak / Hotels Combined shares information about:

  • Number of adults

  • Number of children

Rentals United adds the number of adults and children and presents the total number of guests.

You will find the total number of guests in the reservation.

Cancellation Policy

Kayak / Hotels Combined is responsible for providing this information and we do not have access to the information whether or not they provide the cancellation policy used in a reservation. If you need more information, contact the channel.

Modifying a reservation (N/A)

Modifications are initiated in Kayak / Hotels Combined and synchronized to Rentals United in real time.

If you want to modify the reservation, you need to check with Kayak / Hotels Combined if it is possible to modify it in the channel dashboard. Otherwise, any modifications to an existing reservation should be handled directly with your guests.

Cancelling a reservation (N/A)

Cancellations are initiated in Kayak / Hotels Combined and synchronized to Rentals United in real time. In case it is you who needs to cancel a reservation, please reach out to your Kayak / Hotels Combined contact directly.
